Atlanta is building a more compassionate and effective response to homelessness, and Urban Alchemy is proud to be part of it. In partnership with Partners for HOME, our Practitioners support Downtown Rising, a coordinated initiative helping people experiencing homelessness in Downtown Atlanta move into housing.
Our approach begins with relationships. Many Urban Alchemy Practitioners have lived experience of homelessness, incarceration, addiction, or other forms of trauma. That experience helps them connect with people who may distrust traditional systems. By showing up consistently, listening without judgment, and treating every person with dignity, our teams build the trust that makes change possible.
From outreach to housing
Through Downtown Rising, Practitioners engage people directly, connect them with housing and services, and help create safer, more welcoming public spaces. As of June 2026, Urban Alchemy had helped 490 unhoused people in Downtown Atlanta move into housing.
