Melek Totah came to Urban Alchemy with over 20 years of experience in nonprofit agencies. These agencies provided a host of services, including shelters, housing for transition-age youth, foster care, drug-rehabilitation services, mental health, and residential treatment for children and adults. Totah has experience with a variety of funding streams, including Medicaid and other government programs, private insurance, philanthropic donations, and grant funding. She has a track record of collaborating and partnering with others to define and implement strategic objectives. She is a driver of continuous process improvement leveraging technology and data.
Totah obtained her MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona. She started her career working for large public companies, such as Coca-Cola, Procter and Gamble, Microsoft, and the Gap. These companies provided a rich foundation of best-in-class financial policies and procedures. Totah also teaches Finance and Economics in the University of California – San Francisco School of Nursing’s Master Of Healthcare and Interprofessional Leadership program.
A passionate activist for human rights, Totah enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and pets.
