Certificate of Honor from Mayor Lurie

We’re proud to share that SF HEART has been recognized with a Certificate of Honor from Mayor Lurie for the successful completion of the first phase of the City’s Recreational Vehicle/Large Vehicle Permit Operations program.

This effort focused on helping residents living in RVs purchase their vehicles and transition toward stable housing — a crucial step in preserving dignity and opportunity for San Franciscans facing housing insecurity.

Between October 1 and November 1, SF HEART and the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) engaged and qualified hundreds of residents, issuing 321 permits out of 455 eligible vehicles. The remaining vehicles either left the city or declined participation.

This was the first large-scale, successful collaboration between HEART and HOT — and a model for future cross-departmental coordination. SF HEART’s seven field team members were responsible for 52 percent of all permits issued, working alongside HOT’s 22-person team to bring this project to life.

We’re deeply grateful for Mayor Lurie’s recognition and for every practitioner who made this achievement possible.
