No matter the reason that someone finds themselves without shelter, homelessness is always a traumatic experience.
Few know that better than our Practitioners, many of whom have experienced homelessness and the staggering obstacles that come with it.
That’s why we meet people where they are and connect them with the specific resources they need, including food, clothing, medical care, and more. Both at our sites and on the streets, Practitioners use a strengths-based approach to learn what each unhoused individual needs and wants. Some may be ready for a tent in a safe rest village, while others may prefer a bed at a shelter while they secure other services like medical care. By leading with listening and respect, we connect people with the solution that works best for them.
By respecting what our guests view as their most pressing needs, we solve problems, build trust, and help them overcome bigger challenges. The goal is always to help them reach the point where they’re ready to find and maintain stable housing.
