Tim Kornegay is a lifelong resident of South Central Los Angeles. Since gaining his freedom after 22 years of incarceration in August 2015, Tim has led outreach teams for some of the most successful legislative campaigns and measures to impact the state of California, and the county and city of Los Angeles in decades, resulting in substantial contributions to the passing of historic legislation Proposition 55, 56 and Proposition 57, Proposition HHH and Proposition JJJ. As a follow up, Tim led outreach work that aided in the successful passing of Measure H – resulting in billions of additional funding for housing programs and support services. Tim was also part of the coalition effort to elect Katie Hill, the first Democrat to hold a congressional seat in CD-25. Tim served as Program manager-coordinator for the Los Angeles chapter of the LIVEFREE/PICO PEACEMAKER fellowship. Tim has successfully trained teams of “Newly empowered Voice” justice system impacted individuals to conduct voter engagement and campaign support for Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly Mitchell as well as Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
