Kevin Lee manages all Urban Alchemy services in Austin, Texas. Lee grew up in South Central Los Angeles and was raised into a gang life of violence, which eventually led him to being incarcerated throughout his adolescent and adult life – in juvenile halls, youth authority, and eventually state prison. Lee was given a life prison sentence as an adult, and after several years of being in solitary confinement, he began to ponder on the life he led as a gang member. He began to self-consciously transform his negative thoughts into a more positive one as a humanitarian. While incarcerated, he acquired his GED, attended Patton University and attended many sociology self-help groups. Upon his release in 2018, after serving 30 years of incarceration, Lee was hired as a Practitioner at UA. As UA began to grow, so did Lee. He was quickly promoted to supervisor due to his natural ability to lead a team and later to a director of the first tiny homes in San Francisco for the unsheltered. In Austin, TX he oversees two shelters and three outreach teams. As UA continues to grow in Texas, Lee continues to dedicate his life for the betterment of society.
