Housed Communities
Between 2017 and 2022, unsheltered homelessness in the United States increased by more than 20%. Individuals experiencing homelessness struggle to access services and are more likely to become victims of violence as neighborhoods struggle to keep streets clean.
Urban Alchemy’s Housed Communities initiative helps individuals exit homelessness, emphasizing intake, referrals, and care coordination. Urban Alchemy provides homeless outreach using a strengths-based approach and offers various interim housing options that provide alternatives to sleeping on the streets. We have developed new models of outreach and alternative shelter options such as tiny home villages, safe camping, and safe parking.
Urban Alchemy is dedicated to ensuring the long-term stability for the most vulnerable individuals living in the communities we serve. Many of our Practitioners have experienced the instability of homelessness themselves, giving them the empathy to connect with—and skills to help—others struggling without shelter.
