Clark-Johnson believes the most important service Urban Alchemy provides is the installation of hope. He came to Urban Alchemy after spending 14 years in prison. While there, he earned his associate’s degree. Discovering his love of learning, he became a tutor and certified substance use counselor. He was hired by Urban Alchemy less than 30 days after his release, and has grown to truly appreciate the organization, which he credits with allowing him to be his true self and assist other returning citizens. He has since earned his bachelor’s degree and worked his way up to a senior leadership position. Outside of work, he is a die-hard Sacramento Kings fan and enjoys spending time with his family.
